Abigail & Eduard

September 20, 2025

Our Story

Abbie was only planning on being in Denver for one month and it was still the height of the pandemic so she wasn’t taking dating too seriously, thinking there would be no way she’d meet someone. Eduard’s Bumble profile suggested meeting in Washington Park for a glass of wine and being Abbie’s type (tall, blonde and European), she agreed to a Covid friendly meet up. After that date, they kept spending more and more time together until it was clear this needed to go on much longer than just a month. This then led to the pair traveling and living all over the United States during Covid, before settling down in Boulder, CO and getting their cat Wally.

Four years later, Eduard proposed to Abbie by recreating that first date in Washington Park. We’re looking forward to building our married life together in our new home in Brooklyn!

FAQs

  • You will need a passport that must be valid for at least three months beyond planned date of departure (i.e. can’t be expiring in Oct-Dec 2025). You might have seen news stories about US Citizens needing to complete an ETIAS to enter Europe. This is NOT needed until 2026 so do not worry about this. We encourage you to visit the State Department website for more details.

  • No! Most people in the Netherlands speak English very well. If you want to learn a few key phrases you can certainly do so. The wedding will be performed in English.

  • Unfortunately no, the only children we are involving are immediate family.

  • Artis is located a 5 minute drive from Amsterdam Central Station. We would encourage you to use public transit or arrange a ride to the venue. Uber works perfectly well in Amsterdam.

  • In case you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to our planner for any questions about our wedding, the program or your travel.
