Friday 19th - 21st September, 2025

We are still finalizing the details but you can expect a Friday night casual event, ceremony & party on Saturday, and recovery brunch on Sunday!

Artis

Plantage Kerklaan 38-40, 1018 CZ Amsterdam

Artis has existed for 185 years and is one of the five oldest zoos in the world. The rich history, combined with the classic architecture and the commitment to sustainability (and all in the heart of Amsterdam) made this the perfect venue for our wedding.

Things to do

We're absolutely thrilled that you'll be joining us in Amsterdam for our wedding weekend! We can't wait to celebrate with you and want to share some fun things you can do while you're in town!

Amsterdam is a beautiful city with loads to explore. We know that a lot of you will be in the city for a few days, so here are some tips on where to eat, drink, and activities that we recommend. Or, just get out and walk around - there are historic bars and tiny cute restaurants everywhere you look.

Traveling around Amsterdam

  • On arrival at the airport (Schiphol), the city center is around a 25 minute car ride. We highly recommend taking the train from the airport entrance (more information here) to Amsterdam Centraal Station. It’s quicker and cheaper than a car. Additionally, Uber taxi, bus or tram are all easy options.

  • When traveling around Amsterdam the main modes of transport to consider are tram, train, metro, bus and bicycle. There are 5 metro lines, 44 bus lines, and 18 tram lines, and various payment methods in order to use them. As a visitor it’s cost effective to check in (and out!) with your contactless bank card or phone, or download the OVpay app.

  • We recommend renting a bicycle if you feel comfortable enough. The city is small enough that you can get anywhere within 20 minutes by bike, and as you will notice, everyone is on one! Although it may seem daunting, you do get the hang of it fast.

  • There are four lanes of traffic, you may think you are on the sidewalk but you could be on a bike lane so be aware of incoming cyclists. The center in general is quite fast paced, so stay alert when walking around, even at zebra crossings.

  • If you need a taxi, Uber and Bolt are both readily available for pick-ups within the city.

Other things to note

  • A “coffee shop” is a shop that sells cannabis, a “cafe” is where you will find coffee, cakes and pastries.

  • Need groceries? Albert Heijn is the main grocery store and accepts Visa and Mastercard. It’s worth noting that not every one of their stores accept credit cards. Alternatives are Jumbo and the slightly more up market Ekoplaza.

  • If you’ve forgotten your toothbrush or have last minute travel needs, ETOS is a personal care/drug store that should have what you need.

  • You’re welcome to learn a few key phrases in Dutch but English is widely spoken in Amsterdam so you should have no problem getting about.
